Black Cat, Blue Sea Award

I was nominated for the Black Cat, Blue Sea award by the amazing soul at Sunken ThoughtGreat blog and if you haven’t checked her out yet, you’re welcome 🙂

Funny award name, don’t you think?  What’s it all about then…

This award is for bloggers who strive to write for everybody, and no matter how many viewers they get, make an impact on a reader. This award is an expression of gratitude to the nominee. It should be awarded to anybody that you choose deserves it and it doesn’t mean that they must have hundreds of followers and likes.

So the fact that I was nominated for this really makes my heart swell, thank you, thank you!  Because I guess I am a black cat in the blue sea of the blogosphere.  I don’t have thousands of followers, but I know I sure do love the ones I have.  And I mean that because I follow back and share your joys, perspectives, pictures, tirades, and everything in between with you.  The best thing I ever found on the internet was WordPress because it brought me this amazing family.

Okay, now I’m getting sappy and all… let me proceed, shall I?  Ahem…

The Rules:

  1. Anybody nominated can nominate up to seven other bloggers.
  2. Anybody nominated answers three questions. The questions you ask while nominating can be any three questions. If any of the questions asked are offending or simply do not want to be answered, the nominee does not have to answer them to earn the award.

Here are my three questions and answers:

What are your favorite 3 blogs and what makes them so uniquely special to you?

What?  I have to choose just three?!  I’m actually going to skip this one because I really don’t want to name favorites.  With @BloggingMeetup so close to my heart it feels like I would be calling one of my kids my favorite.

What are three things you’ve learned during your time blogging that you never knew before?

1-That I can write!  I knew I could hammer out a research paper with the best of them, but I really didn’t know I had any voice to connect to anyone on a deeper level through my writing.  And when I say anyone, I’m including myself in that too.  I read what I write sometimes, published or not, and think I wrote that?  It’s given me the confidence I need to start something that’s only ever been an inkling in my mind..a “what if…”  2-Writing is hard – being creative or attempting to be interesting ‘today’ is sometimes a real challenge… and 3-Now I know what all of the fuss is about, this blogging thing.  I can honestly say I never really understood it before and thought it was kind of silly I think.  I wish I had given it a go a long time ago! My voice would have been a lot different though, so maybe it just wasn’t my time.

Do you have 3 favorite movies? If so, what are they and what makes them so amazing?

Okay I have a lot of movies I just think are so good, but these three moved me in some way.  Fried Green Tomatoes, PS-I Love You, and Eat, Pray, Love.

So here are my three questions for my nominees:

  1. What is something you’re really bad at?
  2. Describe your writing space.  When do you normally write, morning mid-day night or wee hours?
  3. What is your absolute favorite TV Show right now?

My nominees:

Winging It by Grace

Still Thinking

The Psy of Life
